Account Manager – Central Texas

 

We are looking for an Account Manager to help us increase our sales revenues, add, and improve customer relationships within the Central Texas territory. This would include the Austin & San Antonio metros and points in between. Territory geography is best defined by the service area of distributors the Account Manager will be supporting.

In this role, we seek outstanding organizational, presentation, and sales skills. We expect you to be an excellent communicator who understands the foodservice operator’s needs and can make the connection between those needs and our clients’ products. If you are also goal-driven and analytical, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you will ensure our clients are happy and search for ways to grow our clients’ sales.

Responsibilities

  • Devise effective territory sales and marketing strategies.
  • Identify and engage with prospective new manufacturing clients and secure new representation with consideration towards industry trends and gaps in the company’s client portfolio.
  • Interface with DSR’s and conduct your own research to find the most efficient sales methods.
  • Meet with both operator and distributor customers to address concerns and provide solutions.
  • Discover sales opportunities through market research.
  • Present our clients’ products and services to prospective foodservice operator customers. Continually close new cases on behalf of our clients and in support of DSR’s.
  • Participate in distributor or industry promotional events (e.g. trade shows) to cultivate customer relationships.
  • Conduct training in sales techniques and company product attributes with assigned distributor accounts.
  • Continually work to achieve new items stocked at distributor level.
  • Communicate sales activity and results of those activities on a weekly basis.
  • Partner with distributor culinary and marketing teams to create awareness of new products and identify and demonstrate opportunities for continued improvement.
  • Assess sales performance according to commission growth of the company as a whole.
  • Monitor competition within assigned region.
  • Prepare and submit account updates to clients’ as requested.
  • Participate in monthly sales meetings at the Houston office.
  • Assist retail and K-12 teams as necessary for special events and shows.
  • Other tasks and direction as deemed necessary by ownership.

Requirements

  • Must reside within greater Central Texas region which includes Austin and San Antonio.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a salesperson within the foodservice industry.
  • Track record of increasing sales and revenue; field sales experience is required.
  • Ability to develop sales strategies and identify key sales targets for each client within the territory.
  • Ability to shift between working independently and collaboration in small group environments.
  • Experience in preparing food products and presenting in a professional manner.
  • Reliable personal vehicle and comprehensive auto insurance.
  • Proficient in MS Office
